youth

youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .

youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by deserting our ideals.

years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ?s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what?s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart there?s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

when the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

古人云：“志不立，如无舵之舟，无衔之马，飘荡奔逸，终亦何所底乎？”没有舵的船，没有缰绳的马，飘荡放纵，终究迷茫，而我们人呢？志不立，更迷茫。所以远航，当立志为先。人生寥寥数十载，慌神而过，我们没有太多的时间和精力，得有个明确的目标。打得江山更要守得住江山，这个朝代才能兴盛，才能流芳百世。徒有志向，没有才学也无法让我们的人生获得升华。才从何来，由博学而成。都说很多大学生大一不知干什么， 大二知道了干嘛不想干 ，大三想干了却没时间，再等到大四有时间却毕业了。我不知道这是哪些前辈的大学生活，但作为后辈，这样的日子我可不敢恭维。试问又有谁愿意惶惶终日而无所得呢？我想这样的内心定是不痛快的，在座的各位肯定也不想有这么一番经历，既然时光无情，那就让我们耗去岁月，换回学识。

我想我的内心是不大喜欢读书的，但不得不承认读书成了博学地不二法门。而且我曾经质疑读书是否有用，我高中的校长却这样跟我说，他说：书其实不苦，它是甜的，只是我们读的书还不够多，才无法运用自如而尝到书的“甜头”。

价值的产生在于我们是否愿意更好的安排自己的时间，而不是随波逐流。在此，希望每一位同学，也包括我，都能在最短的时间内明白自己内心所向，为自己寻得一航标，乘风远航，待到多年后再回首，无愧于这一段匆匆岁月。谢谢大家！
